Friday Craziness

When my 10-year old says, "I like mixed drinks." I pause with eyebrows lifted and he finishes, "taste this, mom, it's coke, Dr. Pepper and Sprite all mixed together!" (thank goodness!)

I just watched "The Chronicles of Riddick" with Vin Diesel. I could be blind and just fall in love with this dude's VOICE. But, open your eyes and he is awe inspiring!

"It's been a long time since I smelled beautiful." from the Chronicles of Riddick.

Here is a question I have about most movies that deal with a violent future.

Why is it always so dirty? Do we lose the ability shower? Do we lose the formula for toothpaste and deodorant? Or is the fashion to have streaks of dirt on your forehead and arms?

I had a need to kill some time one day this week so I popped into my friendly Barnes & Noble to read up on Italy (yes, I AM GOING TO ITALY!!). While reading about What Not To Wear the book advised against wearing shorts due to the fact that many of the churches frown upon them. Here was the advice, "Borrow a nearby tablecloth for a skirt or kilt to cover your legs."

Now, that is advice that could get you out of many a jam.

Lest you all think I am fickle, please know that Vin Diesel cannot ever replace my man Tommy Lee.

    Also, Vin Diesel= Hot. I like his voice, too, just not the words that come out of his mouth. I actually suffered through XXX just to drool over Vin.

  • VIN DIESEL IS HOT. Something funny.... I was looking up pics of Vin and stumbled upon pics of Anderson Cooper, way back in January 2006. It was a "are they gay?" discussion. Um, okay.

    I just think that's sorta funny though. And I LOoooooVE Vin's voice. Of course, his name is actually Mark :)

  • Italy! You lucky girl. You're going to have so much fun. The food. The sights. Just don't follow that table cloth suggestion. It sounds like something they try and trick you into doing so they can laugh about how stupid Americans are. ;)

  • I hate to post this because I think Vin Diesel is a pretty funny guy.
    If you want to lose your image of him as a macho action star, try to find the video floating around the internet of him as one of the models in a dance instruction video.

    I also hear there's a video of Tommy Lee floating around, but I'm sure you've already seen that.

  • Just a quick observation–when I'm around other guys we don't muse about celebrity babes, we're mainly interested in the women within our vision. I think women must fantasize about specific men more than men do about specific women.

    Although I do think Parker Posey and Neve Campbell are very attractive.

  • Interesting. I definately do not fantasize about most of the men I meet in "real" life. Give me a celebrity any day though!

  • Italy! How fun is that! And.... from what I've heard....Vin has a place in Bone, Idaho. I loved him in that one movie... what is it... he was a babysitter to a family whose mom had to go to Swizterland and figure out the password to the safe.... anyway. I agree with the voice thing. Now... Tommy Lee.... hummmmm....his life style just doesn't do anything for me.

    But... ITALY! woooo hoooo!
