I have always thought that Ken is gay. Now with his new blue streaks and Euro look, I am even more suspicious. Plus, he never has really put the moves on Barbie and that Ho begs for it! What do you think?
I agree with both of you on this one....yeah,Debbie, Ken IS gay and he, like wordgirl, finds studdly, bearded GI Joe more attractive then Barbie.
As for the 'man bag' Ken is now styling............I'm sorry but only Jack Bauer from "24" can carry that off.
Come on people....let's just let Ken out of the damn closet! Let's let him go live his life openly and without apology. Barbie has already moved on.........
Are you talking about Ken or the sytlist Philip Bloch? What demographic are they aiming for?
Of course Ken has never made the moves, he's got nothing between his legs...neither does Barbie for that matter....reminds me of a diry joke I heard once.
What is UP with that Rick Springfield-looking doll the guy is holding too? And what did they DO to Ken's hair! That's just one step from a mullet, if I ever saw one!
I think he's bisexual & wants it both ways. Wants his cake & eat it too. Wants to be the catcher & the pitcher. (What is metrosexual? I kinda like the sound of that) I have a man & a pig, do I qualify?
It's funny...I had about 18 or 20 different Barbies, and they all had their own names and identities and fully-formed personalities, and I only had two Ken dolls, and both were named "Ken," and one of them wore a suit and one of them wore pants and a shirt, and that was it. They were so boring!
Maybe they're trying to make Ken more interesting by making him look gay? I liked it better when he was just a boring accessory.
The only Ken doll I ever saw had like, the plastic outlines of briefs. It really freaked me out as a kid; because of it I never had my own Ken. I stuck with my Barbies and their accessories.
I never had a Barbie. I always played with GI JOE. My sister had the Barbies, and Barbie married GI JOE. I am guessing that Ken is indeed gay, and is trying to pass himself off as Metrosexual. If you look that up, it says (1) a man who looks gay who says he isn't and he really is. Goooo Ken! Plus, did you really expect a manly doll from a gay designer??
DISTURBING. That's the word of the day. Ken looks like he's gotten tons of plastic surgery. Well... I guess he has huh? He's obviously gay. But maybe that's what Barbie is missing: a real girlfriend. Evidently Midge and Stacy wont tell her she needs to eat something and stop wearing those pointy shoes cause they're fucking up her feet.
Do no one else notice the unfortunate turn of phrase in the article? "In January, the company blamed sagging Barbie sales for sagging profits." What did they expect, selling sagging Barbies? I'd like to see one of them. Maybe if she's all sagging, she won't mind that Ken is gay. Her youth is obviously fading.

I've always thought Ken looked rather gay, even when I was too young to know what gay was. My Barbies always hooked up with GI Joe instead of Ken.

My dad alsways used to mumble comments about Ken's "Purple Velvet Jumpsuit", but we usually just made Barbie marry the horse.

Ken is gay. It is a bonafide pop culture fact. Period.
Now where's my GI Joe with the Kung Fu grip?
